Preparing Your Kitchen for Weight LossPosted: May 05 in Healthy Eating Menu by Wendy Scinta
For most people, their kitchen is the heart of the home. It’s the place where people get together to talk about their day, their goals and their dreams. It is the place where people are nurtured, encouraged and fed. It is home to our victories and celebrations as well as our hardships and defeats. With all of this daily, celebratory and emotional activity, the kitchen is an extremely important room to prepare in order to help on your weight loss journey.
Get rid of all the unhealthy, over processed, sugar and salt filled junk food. It is so easy to pull out a bag of chips or box of cookies and start mindlessly eating while talking to a friend or loved one. Remove these damaging foods from the room.
- Throw away your soda. Non-diet soda is often consumed like water and is full of calories. Replace it with diet soda or a big jug of ice water.
- Fill your kitchen with low fat meats, cheeses, and produce.
- Bring in healthy snacks like almonds, peanut butter, celery, and fruit.
- Remember, even when your kitchen is filled with healthy foods, moderation is still necessary.
