5 Tips to Help You Stay Motivated While Working Out
Unless you’re a fitness nut, working out is probably not one of your favorite activities. That means that you have to work extra hard to stay focused and motivated while you work out. Luckily, we’ve got five easy ways to help you stay motivated while exercising.
Journal Your Feelings
While it’s not a good idea to try to write in your journal while mastering the treadmill, it is a good idea to record your thoughts and feelings when you’re done. Then, the next time you don’t feel like working out, you can review your journal and see how good working out has made you feel in the past.
Exercise When You First Wake Up
It’s hard to argue with yourself first thing in the morning, which is why you should exercise then. Most of us are less inclined toward excuse-making before the day’s first cup of coffee.
Make a Chart of Your Progress
When you make a chart showing your weight and inches lost, as well as improved blood pressure readings, stamina, and pulse, you’ll have concrete evidence of success, which will make it much easier to stay motivated.
Give Yourself a Reward
Promise yourself rewards to help motivate you to work out. Any reward (with the exception of unhealthy food) is acceptable.
Set Small Goals
Don’t try to take on a 10k marathon your first time out of the gate. Create small goals for yourself that are within reach so you’ll stay motivated and won’t become discouraged.
